Anglers head out onto Kentucky Lake, beautiful sunrise signals start of second Central Division EverStart tourney of 2001

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. – With a brilliant red sun inching up over the horizon, anglers were greeted by near-perfect weather conditions as they made their way onto the open waters of Kentucky Lake shortly after 6 a.m. As the anglers departed Moors Resort marina to commence competition in the $185,000 EverStart Central Division tourney, most agreed that the fishing conditions were phenomenal. With calm waters, virtually no wind and water temperatures reaching 70 degrees, all indications appeared to suggest that the anglers were hitting Kentucky Lake at precisely the right time of the year.

And with 330 anglers from 20 states fishing for the top prize of $15,000 and new Ranger Boat in the Pro Division and $6,000 in the Co-Angler Division, it is also clear that the next four days of competition should be no less intense than the Kentucky sun itself.

Today’s weigh-in is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. at Moors Resort located on Moors Camp Road in Gilbertsville, Ky.
