ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – The top 20 pros and co-anglers in the EverStart Series Eastern Division event at Lake Martin launched under gray skies for the third time in row this morning. The good news is that the forecast finally calls for some sunshine Friday.

The semifinal-round field was let go a little earlier this morning, blasting off at 6:15 a.m. instead of 7. No one was complaining about an extra 45 minutes of fishing time.

The water levels continue to rise on Martin, but the water temperatures do not. The lake came up about another 8 inches last night. The cloudy days have kept the sun from warming the lake and water temperatures still hang around the 50-degree mark.

Although weather conditions on Martin have not been great, they have been consistent, which is actually favorable to anglers. Consistent weather patterns tend to keep fish on the same pattern for longer periods of time; while it is a sudden change in the weather that can really throw anglers off track.

Friday’s weigh-in will start at 4 p.m. at the Wal-Mart store located at 2643 Highway 280 W. in Alexander City. The top 20 will then be cut to the final 10 pros and co-anglers for Saturday’s final round.

Air temperature: 43 degrees
Water temperature: 50 degrees
