If the TTT gang has a party on Amistad earlier in the month, the Stren Series Central Division field can expect a full-blown bash when they head to the 67,000-acre Southwest Texas jewel for their season opener Feb. 22-25. With all the clear, skinny water, it could be a bona fide free-for-all.

“It will be an excellent tournament with lots of heavy weights turned in – if the weather will just cooperate,” said David Curtis, 2005 Stren Series Central Division points champ from Trinity, Texas. “The fish should be on beds or real close to it. My guess is it will be a sight-fishing tournament that will be won in water 10 feet deep or less.”

Any number of baits will produce strikes. Curtis likes tubes, wacky worms and Senkos.

Curtis’ call: 36-40 pounds to make the top 10; 35-40 pounds to win.
